In Remembrance of Virginia A. Sabia

Virginia A. Sabia, Dunmore, died Tuesday morning in the Mountain View Care Center under the care of Hospice of the Sacred Heart. Her husband of 53 years, Bernard A. "Bernie" Sabia, died November 13, 2005.

Born in Dunmore, daughter of the late Fred and Virginia Scott Pane, she was a 1949 graduate of Dunmore High School. Prior to retirement, she was a bookkeeper and payroll clerk for the family business, Public Service Taxi and later retired from First National Community Bank in Dunmore. She was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish, Dunmore.

Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma who will be missed by all who knew her.

Her family would like to thank the nurses and staffs of both the Mt. View Care Center and the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for all the loving and devoted care shown to Virginia.

Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Sabia-Telep and husband, Duane, Dunmore; son, James B. Sabia and wife, Dolores, Waymart; and daughter, Judy Sabia, Dunmore; four grandchildren, Frank R. Froese Jr. and wife, Christine, Clarks Summit; Prof. Bianca Sabia, Waymart; James Sabia Jr., Pittsburgh; and Joseph Sabia, a student at Wilkes University; and two great-granddaughters, her babies, Ava Jane and Celia Anne Froese, who lovingly referred to her as "GiGi"; a brother, Frank Pane and wife, Alice, Elmhurst; a sister-in-law, Josephine Pane, Dunmore; a brother-in-law, Vito Sabia, Silver Spring, Md.; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Carmen J. Pane.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street, Dunmore. Interment in Dunmore Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
