Sarra Y. Ufberg, 95, Scranton, died Wednesday in the Jewish Home of Eastern PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mikhail Leyptsin.
Born in Russia, daughter of the late Haym and Vihna Sacks Ufberg, she served in the Russian Army during World War II, and prior to retirement she worked as a pharmacist, a job she loved very much. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to all who knew her.
Surviving is her daughter, Anna Lisak of Scranton; grandson Victor Lisak; nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Jewish Home, especially those on the second floor, for the kind and compassionate care given to Sarra during her stay.
Graveside services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Dalton Jewish Cemetery by Cantor Vladimir Aronzon.
