Anna Roscoe Spinozza, 94, of Throop, and a former Dunmore resident passed away Wednesday following a lengthy illness in VNA Hospice at Geisinger- CMC. She was predeceased by her husband Rocco Spinozza who died in 1974.
Anna was born in Scranton, daughter of the late Konstanty and Michaelina Roscoe. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Amalgamated Garment Workers, and worked for over 30 years at Scranton Garment in Dunmore, PA. She enjoyed cooking for her family, especially at holiday gatherings, loved to dance, especially the polka, playing bingo, going to the casino, and playing cards.

Surviving are daughters Rosemary Yurchak of Throop with whom she resided, Barbara Franceschelli and her husband Anthony J. Franceschelli of Middleboro, MA, Olympia Reese and her husband James Reese of Dunmore, Roxanne Spinozza, Scranton; and son Anthony Spinozza and his wife Diane of Hanover Township, PA.
Anna had 10 grandchildren, Anthony, Mark, Michael, Kimberlee, Alexandra, James, Patrick, Leigh Ann, Dana, and Kevin. Anna had 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great- granddaughter, several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters Stella Chester, Emily Capobinaco, and brothers Chester and Stanley Roscoe.
A true matriarch of her family, Anna was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great-grandmother devoted to her family.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 East Drinker St. Dunmore, with mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. in Immaculate Conception Church, Taylor Ave. and East Gibson St., Scranton. Interment in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.
Friends may call Friday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, preffered memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice, 307 Delaware Ave., Olyphant, 18447.
