In Loving Memory of Agnes Rushin

Agnes Rushin, 89, a resident of St. Mary's Villa in Elmhurst Twp., and formerly of Dunmore, died Friday in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit in Dunmore. Her husband, the late Paul Rushin, died May 6, 2011. The couple had been married for 59 years.
Born in Dunmore, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Tutko Kost, she attended Dunmore public schools and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Dunmore.
Family was everything to Agnes, and she was a devoted wife to her "Roosh," and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved cooking for her family and friends, especially her famous chicken soup and piggies, and enjoyed listening and dancing to polkas.
Surviving are her son, George Rushin and wife, Julie, of Dunmore; her daughters, Christina Hollinger and fiancé, Richard, of Shohola, Pike County; Paula Bartleson and husband, Scott, of Moscow; and Lisa Stachnik and husband, Jack, of Honesdale; eight grandchildren, Sara Bradley and husband, Pat; David Lalli and wife, Tammy; Amy Mistishin and husband, John; Michael and Paul Stachnik, George Rushin Jr. and wife, Heather; Adam and Jesse Rushin; five great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Aiden, Brendon, Emma and Robert; her brother, John Kost and wife, Betty, of Connecticut; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Anna Dietz, Mary Wasicko, Elizabeth Mushak; and her brother, George Koski.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in the St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Interment to follow in All Saints Slovak Cemetery, Hollisterville.
Friends may call Wednesday morning at the funeral home from 9 to 10:30.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions in Agnes' name be made to St. Joseph's Center, 2010 Adams Ave., Scranton, PA 18509, Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William St. Dunmore, PA 18512, or to the donor's favorite charity.
