Vincent J. Arcieri, 80, of Scranton, died Wednesday evening in the Regional Hospital of Scranton.  He and his wife, the former Barbara E. Csigi, celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on April 23 2013.

Born in Dunmore, son of the late Saverio and Mary Morrell Arcieri, he was a graduate of Dunmore High School Class of 1952, and went on to join the U.S. Air Force.  Vincent was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish and its Holy Name Society. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the Royal Bottling Company. Vince was avid sports fan, he was a Little League and American Legion Baseball coach in South Scranton, and enjoyed attending horse races and going to the casino, but above all, he loved to spend time with his grandchildren. 

Also surviving is his daughter, Barbara Heller and husband William of Uniondale; his son, Vincent A. Arcieri and wife Tammy of Scranton; grandchildren Samuel, Ashley and Vinny Arcieri, all of Scranton; sisters Philomena Arcieri of Dunmore, and Josephine Noto and husband Robert of Dunmore; nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Arcieri.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in  St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St., Dunmore.  Entombment will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.  Friends may call today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.

I'm so sorry to hear about Uncle Vince, although we have lost touch for many, many years, everyone is always in my thoughts. You will all be in my thought's and prayers.

I was saddened to hear of the death of "big" Vince. I will remember always his support and interest in my baseball career, and the kind words he always expressed. I am sure he will a great coach up in heaven! Thoughts and prayers with all of his family.

Dear "Vincenzo", I will miss you so very much. You kept me laughing with all your jokes and I admired your love of life! I am sure that God will have the BEST biscotti cookies in heaven! However, I am not quite sure about a casino...

Ian so sorry to hear of Uncle Vince's death. Hope he wasn't in a lot of pain. Know he was so proud of his entire family. Glad we were able to see him last year at the Csigi reunion. Sending the family prayers.
