Shoshana "Terry" Goldberg of Scranton died Monday evening at the home of her husband's children, Dr. and Mrs. Yitzchok Kurtzer, with whom she resided. She is survived by her husband, Rabbi Dr. Joseph Goldberg, to whom she was married for 16 years.

Born in Munkatch, Czechoslovakia, daughter of the late Chaim Tzvi and Breindel Friedman, she was a survivor of the Holocaust and upon immigrating to the United States with her father and sister, she became a teacher. She was a member of Machzikeh Hadas and served as treasurer for its Sisterhood for many years. She was also a member of AMIT and the Women's League of the Scranton Hebrew Day School.

Also surviving are her husband's children, Ziporah Lew and husband, Luzzy, and their children, Yola and Velvy Ash, parents to Daniel, Yehudis, Rachel and Noam; Chelly and Moishe Katz, parents to Yehudis, Chaim Tzvi, Chayala, Breindy, Zeacy and Aliza; Shaindy Tarter and husband, Yaacov Meir, parents to Yehudis, Chevy, Malky, Adina, Shmuelly and Avromy; and Aliza Fund and husband, Moshe, parents to Yehudis, Hillel, Dovid, Hindy, Kalmy and Chaya Yitty; Miriam Deutsch and husband, Itchie, and their children, Avi and Mindy Deutsch, parents to Yisroel Chaim, Yehudis, Tobi, Ephraim, Yaakov Yehudah, Rivky, Dovid, Eliyahu and Malky; and Yaakov and Leah Deutsch, parents to Yisroel Chaim, Pinny, Fraidy and Henny; Rochel Kurtzer and husband, Dr. Yitzchok, their children Ahron, Chai Shapiro and husband, Yaakov, parents to Yehudis, Avi, Malky Dubin and husband, Chesky, parents to Ahron, Shmuel, Yehudis, Moshe, Zevy and Leah; sister, Ruth Cohen and husband, Ben; niece, Barbara Cohen and family; and nephew, Howard Cohen, and family.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, who was killed in the Holocaust along with their mother.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Machzikeh Hadas Congregation, 600 Monroe Ave., Scranton. Interment in Dalton Jewish Cemetery.

Shiva will observed at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Yitzchok Kurtzer.
