Sheldon Ehrenpreis, 89 of Scranton, PA, passed away Sunday, July 13th. He was born February 3, 1925 in Binghamton, NY.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 64 years, the former Barbara Goodman, son Michael and his wife Robin, son Scott and his wife Maxine and grandchildren Mark, Brette, Lindsay, Randall and Allison and nephews Andy and Jon Goodman and their wives Joanne and Mary Jane and their children.

Shelly is a native of Syracuse, NY, and moved to Scranton in 1981. Shelly graduated from Syracuse University and received a Masters from Cornell University. He served on several boards and is a former President of Temple Israel of Scranton.

There will be a graveside service at Temple Israel Cemetery, Dunmore, PA Monday at 2 p.m. Shiva will be observed at 550 Clay Avenue, Apt 4D Scranton, PA, Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 2:00 to 4:00p.m.

Contributions can be made in his honor to Temple Israel of Scranton, 918 East Gibson Street, Scranton, PA 18510; or the charity of your choice.

Sorry to hear about Mr. Ehrenpreis' passing. He was such a nice man. He will surely be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

It is with sadness that I heard Sheldon had passed away. He will be missed by many who valued his friendship. He was a gentle and caring fellow human being. I will miss him at the JCC fitness facility. I send my sincere condolences to his wife Barbara and family during this time of grief.
