Romayne R. Stuckart of Dunmore, wife of the late Bertin M. Stuckart, passed away
peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.
The daughter of the late John and Ruth Griffiths Matticks, was born in Taylor,
Pennsylvania, a graduate of Taylor High School.
Romayne's greatest joys in life were her family and her faith. A loving and devoted,
mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Romayne derived
enormous pleasure visiting and spending time with those she loved. Romayne was a
compassionate, caring friend, ever ready to offer a tender ear and loving heart to all she
knew. A devout and active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Dunmore,
she was also a member of its MAC Club.
She is survived by her daughters, Candida and her husband Thomas Hughes of
Dunmore, Mary Ruth and her husband Ryan Cummins of Terre Haute, Indiana, Theresa
Stuckart Ferrario, Dunmore, Davida and her husband J.P. Sweeney, Dunmore, Patricia
and her husband Robert Kennedy, Dunmore. Her sons, Marc, and his wife Joan, Hilton
Head Island, SC, PJ, Kingman, AZ ,Matthew and his wife Kim, Scranton. She is
survived by 22 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are her sisters, Jane Bendowski, Hazelton, Betty, Kutniewski, Scranton
and Mary Lou Ranken of Davie, Fl and her brothers, William Matticks, Scranton,
Edward Matticks, Dunmore, Robert Matticks, Scranton and Joseph Matticks, Scranton.
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister Ann Claire Brennan and brothers Jack Matticks
and Paul Matticks.
The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 East Drinker Street in Dunmore with mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut Street in Dunmore. Interment will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton.
Those attending the funeral mass are kindly asked to go directly to the church Friday morning. Friends may call Thursday in the funeral home from 4-8pm.
