Phyllis M. Tenti, 92, of Dunmore, died Saturday evening in the V.N.A. Hospice at Geisinger-Community Medical Center.  Her husband, the late Nello B. Tenti with whom she shared 60 years of marriage, died May 30, 2008.

 Born in the Providence Section of Scranton, daughter of the late James and Antoinette DeMaio Martinelli, she was a graduate of Dunmore High School Class of 1939 and prior to retirement, she worked as a seamstress for both Leslie Fay and Throop Fashions, and was a member of the ILGWU.  Phyllis was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish as well as its Altar and Rosary Society, and also participated in the Kyna Club, the 50 Plus Club, the WTS Club and the former St. Anthony and KNE Quilting Club.  She always enjoyed cooking, baking, and entertaining for her family and many friends.

 The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Peter Cognetti and his Physician’s Assistant, Amy, as well as his entire staff for all of their dedicated care to Phyllis.  Also, a kind thank you to Eugene McKitish and the staff of Advanced Home Health Care Specialists in Dunmore and the staff at V.N.A. Hospice at Geisinger-Community Medical Center. 

 Surviving is her daughter and caregiver Annette Tenti Scep and husband Allen, Lithia, FL; grandchildren Melissa Scep Donnini, Lithia, FL; great-grandchildren Dean and Deanna Donnini, Lithia, FL; and Lorraine Nesgoda and husband James, Lakeland, FL, a sister Mary Martinelli, Sciota, NY; a step brother Victor Bideganeta, Dunmore, sisters-in-law Vera Menichello, New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Sara Martinelli, Dunmore; a cousin Fran Ritone, Newington, CT, niece and nephew James and Corinne Cologero, additional other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, a great-great nephew and cousins and extended family Richard, RJ, Christopher, and John Capoccia, all of Dunmore.

 She was preceded in death by her brother Albert Martinellli; sisters Jane Martinelli, Evelyn “Toby” Martinelli, and Ruth Kohanski; granddaughter Mary Shields; nephew Albert “Ronnie” Martinelli on February 8th; and sisters-in-law Yolanda Calogero and Concetta “Connie” Tenti.

 The funeral will be Thursday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with mass at 11am in the St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St., Dunmore.  Interment to follow in Dunmore Cemetery.

 Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-7pm

 Per Phyllis’s wishes, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish 303 Smith Street Dunmore, PA 18512.

HOME WITH COUGH & COLD. CINDY WILL PAY RESPECTS @ THE FUNERAL HOME. I KNOW THAT FOR THE LONGEST TIME MAYBE ETERNITY, THE THOUGHTS OF YOUR MOM WILL BE WITH YOU. MINE ARE STILL FRESH AND NO MATTER THAT I DID EVERYTHING I THOUGHT WAS RIGHT, I CONTINUE TO ASK IF THERE WAS MORE I COULD HAVE DONE. DEATH HAUNTS THOSE LEFT BEHIND. YOUR MOM IS IN GREAT HANDS. I am sorry to hear about Phil's passing. I have great memories of our time on the committee for the Calitrani Reunions.
