Pauline Cordaro, 99, formerly of Dunmore, died Tuesday
morning at the Lackawanna Rehabilitation Health Care Center. She was the wife
of Angelo Cordaro, who died in 1988.



Born in the Hyde Park section of Scranton, she was the
daughter of the late Maxim and Thelka Mellnick. Before retirement, she had been
a housekeeper for many families including the McDonald Family in Dunmore and
the Cummings family in Scranton.



Pauline’s goal in life was to live to be 100 years old but
fell short by a few months. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother and sister. She enjoyed cooking and baking and took pleasure
in sewing and reading romance novels. The family wishes to thank the staff at
Lackawanna Rehabilitation Health Care Center for the love and compassion shown
to “Nana” during her stay with them.



Surviving are granddaughters; Shelia Hallinan,Dunmore,
Debbie Canavan, Scranton, Sally Judge, Dunmore, Cathy Corbett, Scranton and
Susan Pallo, Jessup. Grandsons; Ross Cordaro, Dunmore and step-grandsons; Sean
Cordaro, Clarks Summit and Pat Cordaro, Scranton. Several great-grandchildren
and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by sons; Ross and Michael, a
great- granddaughter, Michelle Canavan, a daughter-in-law, Sally Cordaro;
brothers; Joe, Steve, Michael and Frank Mellnick and a sister; Anna Gambacorta.



The funeral will be Friday with a Mass at 9:30am in St.
Mary’s Church, Chestnut St., Dunmore.



Friends may call at the church from 8:30am until the time of
Mass.



Interment, St. Michael’s Cemetery, Dunmore.



In Lieu of flowers please make donations to the donor’s
favorite charity.

i wish all of aunt paulie's surviving grandchildren my condolences for such and incredible lady and one of my favorite aunts i would do anything for...she was a strong driven woman who adored her grandchildren and loved her boys....and was an exceptional sister to our grandmother....their bond as sisters could never be shaken nor broken nor their love for each other....i think of them together and just smile...
