Patricia Senofonte, 93, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loved ones Sunday evening, February 23rd. She was born to Alex and Lucia Boezi Burattini of Dunmore on November 12, 1920, and is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Frank who died in 1988, as well as brothers Drago, Terrance, and Paul.
She is survived by five children, Louis and wife Virginia, Roaring Brook, Frank and wife Grace Ann, Dunmore, Thomas and wife Kathee, Waverly, Al, Dunmore, Rich and wife Linn, Dunmore and a sister Matilda Morell, Scranton. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren: Gigi Holmes, Patrice Ruddy, Mark, Todd, Marni, Scott, Alec, Nick and Franco Senofonte, Karrie Millett, Victoria Burgio; and six great-grandchildren, Louis, Samantha, Paul, Chloe, Luca, Serafina; and several nieces and nephews.
She was educated in the Dunmore school district and was extremely proud of receiving a certificate in carpentry from Grossman's Lumber Supply which she put to good use over the years making repairs around the house. She was an amazing cook and seamstresses, and she used her talents to create everything from wedding dresses to custom home decor. Before retirement she was employed at T&T Fashions where she was a floor manager and oversaw many seamstresses. She was also employed by Mia-Jod Garments and later opened her own tailoring shop in Dunmore. She also ran the snack concession at MBC lanes for several years.
Pat completed her mission in life which was to raise her five boys and help raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nothing, however, brought her joy like gathering her family for a meal, tending her vegetable and flower gardens, watching her grandchildren and rooting for the Yankees. After retirement she loved travel, whether it was her monthly trip to Atlantic City with her girlfriends or family vacations throughout the U.S. and abroad, especially Italy.
For their exceptional care, compassion and prayers, the family would like to thank Dr. Sal Lawrence, the staff of Green Ridge Health Care, especially her main caregivers, Diana and Gwen and Sacred Heart Hospice.
The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St., Dunmore. Interment to follow in Dunmore Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
