Nicholas G. Bolick, 77, of Dunmore, died Saturday evening at home. He and his wife, the former Gert Miraglia, would have celebrated 58 years of marriage on Sept. 1.

Born in Dunmore, son of the late Frank and Susan Postulka Bolick, he was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Scranton. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School and received a degree in mechanical engineering from the State University of New York. Before retirement, he was employed by IBM in Endicott, N.Y.

He loved his family and grandchildren and his passions in life were his wife of 57 years, flight instructing and PIAA officiating. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Also surviving are daughters, Mary Dunleavy and husband, Patrick, Scranton; Lori Hobgood and husband, Francis, Dunmore; and Susie Bonin and husband, Marc, Lebanon, Pa.; sons, Nicholas Bolick and wife, Colleen, Incline Village, Nev.; and Joseph Bolick and wife, Diane, Allentown; grandchildren, Brian, Mark and Claire Dunleavy, Hailey Summa, Joey, Kevin and Michael Bolick, Ryan and Lilianne Bonin, and Chase Hobgood; sisters, Dorothy Palumbo, Queens, N.Y.; and Johanna Arancio, Howell, N.J.; nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by siblings, Frances Pencek, Ann Bergamino, Susan Stoutland, Frank, Michael and John Bolick, and Jane Gilmore.

The funeral will be Wednesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Taylor Avenue, Scranton. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.

Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

My deepest sympathies for your loss. I officiated many baseball games with Nick. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met. He always had a smile and a kind word for you. He will be missed.

Gert,

Thank you for always having a warm and welcoming home. I always looked up to Nick, he will be truely missed, but please know his memory will not be lost, his acts of kindness and mentoring to all of us will not be forgotten.

Nick was a good friend I got to know through officiating. I always looked up to nick. we had a lot of fun on and off the football field I will never forget any of those times Im so sorry for your loss. Nick will be surely missed please accepy my condolences

Dear Gert & family, we are so very sorry for your great loss. Nick was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and neighbor. I think about you often and the days living on Barton Street. Nick will be greatly missed. Please accept our condolences.
