Morris Pisarz, 96, Scranton, died Saturday evening in the Jewish Home. His wife, the former Daisy Diamondstein, died in 1975.

Born in Nova Korchin, Poland, he was the son of the late Isaac and Shandel Pisarz. He was a Holocaust survivor and had been in various concentration and labor camps. Before retirement, he was a self-employed dry goods merchant.

He was a member of the Beth Shalom and Jewish Home congregations.

Surviving are a son, Allan, Scranton; three grandchildren; a brother, Jack, New York; and nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Dalton Jewish Cemetery by Rabbi Dovid Saks. Shiva will be observed at the residence of his son, 844 N. Webster Ave., Scranton, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. 

Arrangements and care provided by Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., Dunmore.
