Miriam Badner, 98, of Scranton, died Tuesday evening in the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania, Scranton. She was predeceased by her husband, the late Murray Badner in 2008.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elka Landa. Miriam’s family meant everything to her and she leaves behind two sons; Jeffrey and wife Susan of Middle Island, NY and Stuart and wife Cheryl of Greentown, Pa. She was the beloved grandmother to Jonathan Badner and wife Tracy, Michael, Zoe and Erika Badner, and a great-grandmother to Dylan Badner. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Bea Badner, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Fishbein and a brother, Hyman Landa.

Funeral services will be held Monday at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with a service at 11:00 AM conducted by Rabbi Elliott Kleinman. Interment at Dalton Jewish Cemetery following.  Friends may call from 10:00 AM at the funeral home. The family will also receive visitors at the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania on Monday evening from 4:00-6:00 PM and at their home on Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 PM.

Memorial Contributions may be sent to the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania, 1101 Vine St., Scranton.

Dear Stuart and Cheryl....I just want to reach out and let you know how sorry I am for your loss. It sounds like your Mom had a wonderful full life and that is, of course, a special thing.
