Mildred Stein Weiss, of King of Prussia and formerly of Jessup, died Friday morning in the Thomas Jefferson Neuroscience Center in Philadelphia. Her husband, the late Joseph Julius Weiss, died in 1966.

 

Born in Olyphant, daughter of the late Benjamin and Sarah Gross Stein, she was a graduate of Olyphant High School and the former Lackawanna Business College where she participated in the CETA Program.  For many years she had been employed at the bursar’s office at the former Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia. 

 

Surviving is a son, Sander Neil Weiss and wife Kathy, and their daughter Christina, all of San Francisco; a niece, Sheila Klein, of VA; and several cousins. 

 

She was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Eliot Weiss; and sisters Rita Mearse and Betty Furman.

 

Graveside services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the Dalton Jewish Cemetery by Rabbi Daniel Swartz.  There is no local shiva.

Having worked at Gulph Mills Village for the past four years, it was a pleasure knowing your mother and I enjoyed assisting her with her daily activities. She will be missed here at Gulph Mills Village and I will especially miss our friendly conversations.
