Mary Ann McNulty, 76, of Scranton, died Tuesday morning at home.

 

Born and raised in Scranton, daughter of the late William and Margaret Shevlin McNulty, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and Lackawanna Business College.  She had been employed at the A&P Business Office and later by PP&L as office manager, and after retirement, she enjoyed her visits to the casino.  She was an active volunteer with Holy Family Residence, St. Joseph’s Center, and St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen, and was a member of St. Peter’s Cathedral.  Known to her nieces and nephews as Meem, she will be sorely missed by all.

 

Surviving is her brother, Jack McNulty and wife Margaret of Clarks Summit; nephew John Jeffrey McNulty and wife Kim, and their children Abby, Allison, Megan, and Kaitlyn, all of Brentwood, TN; niece, Katie McNulty of Clarks Summit; nephew, Patrick McNulty of Clarks Summit and niece Tara McNulty of Baltimore, Md., the wife of Mary Ann’s late nephew Michael Patrick McNulty who died earlier this year.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Peter’s Cathedral, 315 Wyoming Ave., Scranton.  Burial to follow in Abington Hills Cemetery, Morgan Highway, Clarks Summit.   

 

Friends may call Wednesday morning at the Cathedral from 8:45 a.m. until the time of mass.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary Ann’s memory may be made to the Michael McNulty Scholarship Fund at the Roger Williams University School of Law, c/o Office of the Dean, 10 Metacom Ave., Bristol, RI 02809.

Maryann was such a caring, lovely, and a good friend. I will miss her and always wanting to come to Hazleton for lunch for her favorite sausage and scamutz sandwich.

It was my pleasure to have known Mary Ann when she was with PPL and I was Credit Manager at Pennsylvania Gas and Water. I knew her as a bright and caring person. I am so glad I had a chance to know her.
My sympathy to her family and friends.
She will be missed.
