Margaret Rogan, 83, of Scranton, died Saturday morning in the Green Ridge Health Care Center, Scranton. She is survived by her husband, Joseph. The couple had been married for 40 years.

Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Michael Sr. and Mary Topol-anchik Sansky and attended Dunmore public schools. She was a sales representative for Avon for over 50 years, won numerous awards for sales and was the largest recruiter for new representatives in Northeast Pennsylvania in the late 1990s. She sold in local malls and at the Italian Festival in Scranton.

She raised six children and introduced them to the art and love of music. She was a great cook and enjoyed gardening and road trips. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of the Green Ridge Health Care Center Building 500 and Dr. Dodge and hospice nurse Lori O'Boyle for all of their care and compassion during Margaret's brief illness.

Also surviving are daughters, Joyce Vajda, South Carolina; and Mary Rogan, Palm Beach, Fla.; sons, Ron Schoonover and wife, Marie, Dickson City; Donald Schoonover and wife, Diane, Karthus; Robert Schoonover and wife, Maureen, Dickson City; and Danny Schoonover and wife, Debra, Olympia, Wash.; a brother, John Sansky, Scranton; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by sisters, Helen, Susan, Ann, Mary, Julia, Elizabeth and Olga; and brothers, George and Michael.

The funeral will be Wednesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Mother Mary of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, North Scranton. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, Dunmore

Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 712 S. Keyser Ave., Taylor, PA 18517.

I wish to extend my most sincere and deepest expression of loss in the passing of Margaret Rogan. I have only fond memories of her kindness to me and her obvious joy while in the company of her family. May she now rest in peace and share joy in the company of our Lord.
