Margaret M. Rizzo, 89, of Dunmore, died Wednesday at Moses Taylor Hospital after a short illness. Her husband, John J. Rizzo, died Oct. 9, 2010.

Born in Dunmore, daughter of the late Salvatore and Rose Pietrafase Summa, she was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish, Dunmore. She was a graduate of Dunmore High School and, before retirement, was a seamstress for Pembrook and other local garment factories.

She was a member of the WTS Society, Dunmore, and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She enjoyed cooking and was very active in the Dunmore Senior Center and the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, where she attended Mass daily and played bingo. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are two sisters, Ann Marie DeCicco and Jane Buselli, both of Dunmore; a brother, William Summa, Endwell, N.Y.; a granddaughter, Margo Marrow and husband, Ed, and their children, Audrey and Odin, Dunmore; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Marie Mark; and two sisters, Carmella Colangelo and Grace Scaccia.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church, Smith Street, Dunmore. Interment, Italian-American Cemetery, Minooka section of Scranton.

Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, 401 Penn Ave., Scranton, PA 18503.

I thought I had no more tears to shed, but how sad I am,all over again.It seems just yesterday we were all together having a tea party.What wonderful memories I have.
