Madelyn Ann Guarino, 99, Dunmore, died Tuesday morning in the Green Ridge Care Center. Her husband, the late John Guarino died in 1974.
Born in Dunmore, daughter of the late Ralph and Concetta Carra D’Amico, she attended Dunmore public schools and was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish. Prior to retirement, she was employed in the local garment industry and was a former member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America as well as the Ladies Auxiliary of the Willow Club.
The family wishes to thank Olivia, Nancy and Barbara for all of their kindness and care in addition to the staff of the Green Ridge Care Center. A special thank you is extended to Madelyn’s niece, Kathy Marra, who was always there in her times of need.
Surviving is a daughter Joanne Quinn and husband James, Dunmore; a grandson Keith Quinn and wife Melissa, Endicott, NY; great-granddaughter Kelsey Elizabeth Quinn; nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by sisters Mary Ann Marra and Ann Donaldson; and brothers Rev. Alphonsus Domnick, Joseph Domnick, Rev. Carmen D’Amico, Anthony D’Amico, Rocco D’Amico and Salvatore D’Amico.
The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with mass at 9:30 a.m. in the St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St., Dunmore. Interment in the Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore. Friends may call Thursday evening in the funeral home from 5-8 p.m.
