Louis J. Bouselli, Jr., 91, Dunmore, died Thursday evening in the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania. He and his wife the former Dorothy T. Stumbers had celebrated 69 years of marriage on July 20th.
Born in Dunmore, he was the son of Luigi (Louis) and Genevieve Romanini Buselli. Attended Dunmore Public Schools and was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore. As a teenager he left home to work with the Conservation Civilian Corp. and then was drafted into the U.S. Army Air Corps serving in the European Theatre of Operations in Germany and France during World War II. Louis was a member of the VFW and various hunting clubs.
Prior to retirement he was employed by Friedman’s Express Inc. (FXI) for 42 years and was a member of the Teamsters local 229.
After retirement he worked for Lander Canoe Rentals for numerous years in addition to doing volunteer work with the senior food giveaways.
In his younger days he enjoyed golf, bowling, boxing, and nature walks. But his lifelong interests were hunting, fishing, small engine repair, but mainly wood working, playing cards, and going to casinos, gardening, and spending time on the Delaware River.
Louis was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother , uncle and friend.
His family would like to thank, for all their dedicated care and compassion, the entire staff of the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania along with the various doctors and the staff of the Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
Surviving are two daughters Ann Marie Schneider and her husband Paul, Westfield, NJ, Rose Ann Arnone and her husband Vincent, Dunmore, a son, Joseph Bouselli and his wife Susan, Hawley, granddaughters, Suzanne Tammaro and husband Daniel, Amanda Martino and husband Ricardo, and Elaine Bouselli, grandsons, Louis and Anthony Bouselli, great-grandson, Angelo Tammaro, a brother Anthony and wife Mary, Missouri, and a sister, Florence Colwell, New York.
He was preceded in death by a very young son James, sisters Santa Biagioni, Theresa Mills, Violet Sibio, and an infant sister, and brothers Pete, Matthew, Mario, Sandy, John and Angelo.
The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 East Drinker Street in Dunmore with Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Anthony of Padua Church on Smith Street in Dunmore. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery in Throop.
