Laurie Ann Zaleski, 54, of Scranton, died Saturday at the Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Taylor.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late James L. and Mary M. Somers Albert, she was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and was employed by Advanced Cardiology Specialists-Geisinger. She had been previously employed at St. Joseph's Center.

Laurie enjoyed bowling, spending time at many lakes with friends and being of help to others, and was a devoted mother and nanny whose true joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She had also been a member of the Polish Club and the VFW Post 25 Auxiliary, both in North Scranton.

Surviving are a daughter, Marissa A. Zaleski and companion, Christopher Perry, Jermyn; a son, Cory Zaleski and companion, Heather Searfoss, Scranton; grandchildren, Xavier and Braydan Perry, and Skylar Zaleski; two sisters, Mary Catherine Cornell and husband, Kenneth, Salisbury, N.C.; and Mary Ellen Kearney, Scranton; two brothers, James Albert and wife, Mari, Manahawkin, N.J.; and Jerry Albert, Scranton; her former husband, Leonard Zaleski, Jermyn; nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with services by Pastor Kristian Bjornstad. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.

Family and friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Laurie 's passing She was such a sweet kind soul . my deepest sympathy to her family and friends.
