Julie Tur, 96, of Dunmore, passed away Sunday afternoon in the Dunmore Health Care Center under the care of Compassionate Care Hospice.  Previous to that, she was cared for at home by her son and daughter.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Tur, who died in 1989.

Born in Taylor, daughter of the late Paul and Mary Leggin Kasick, she attended Taylor public schools, and worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide at the Laurel Hill Nursing Home in Dunmore prior to her retirement at the age of 80.  She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose passion for life was centered around her adoring family.  She will be truly missed.

Julie’s family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Compassionate Care Hospice for all of their gentle kindness during times of need.  

Surviving is her daughter, Patricia Malcolm, and her son Michael Tur; her grandson, Greg Malcolm; and great-grandson, Matthew Malcolm, all of Dunmore; her sister, Helen Maletta, also of Dunmore; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by numerous siblings.

Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial and interment will be privately held.  There are no public calling hours. 

Contributions in Julie’s memory may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 366 N. Main St., 1st Floor, Taylor, 18517.

I was very sorry to hear about your mom . I was talking about her with my daughter. I will miss her . She was a wonderful friend.I will continue to keep her in my prayers.

Pat there are no words that can take away your sorrow, your pain - know that I am thinking if you at this very sad time. I know how much you loved your Mom.
