Irwin Savad, Clifton, N.J., formerly of Clarks Summit, died Wednesday at his residence. His wife, Diane Savad, died in 2003.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of the late Abraham and Rose Liebowitz Savadsky, he was a World War II Navy veteran.

Surviving are two daughters, Devorah Klappholz, Passaic, N.J.; and Lynn Glassman, Israel; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a sister, Helene Sloan, Lynbrook, N.Y.; nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Dalton Jewish Cemetery by Rabbi Mordechai Fine.

Shiva will be observed locally at the Sittner residence, 1003 Olive St., Scranton, following the services until 4 p.m. Thursday only.
