 Vincent John Riggi, of Tobyhanna and Palm Beach, FL, died Saturday morning after a brief illness.  His wife is the former Denise M. Dziuba.

Born February 28, 1925 in Dunmore, son of the late Nicola Joseph and Katherine Noto Riggi, Vince was a graduate of Dunmore High School. He went on to attend electrical trade school in New York City, and then pursued further studies at Penn State University.  He was a lifetime member of the National Electrical Contractors Association.  In 1949, he founded the Riggi Electric Company in Dunmore, and in 1980 incorporated his business and became Everon Electrical Contractors in Scranton. 

Since 1970, he was a member of the Glen Oak Country Club and also a member of the Pocono Farms Country Club since 1976.  Vince’s passion was downhill skiing, golf and sailing.  To his family and friends, he was extremely generous and shared a lifetime of interesting stories.

Vincent is also survived by his son Vincent Riggi and wife Jane, Clarks Summit; daughters Diane Riggi Smith and husband Jim, Pembroke pines, FL, and Cathy Draper and husband David, Dalton; grandchildren James, Delia and Matthew Riggi, and Lee and Gordon Draper; brothers Nicholas and Thomas Riggi, both of Scranton, and Anthony Riggi, Boca Raton, FL; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by brothers Steven, John and Joseph Riggi; sisters Grace Scaturro, Anna Baron, and Mary Scaturro.

The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 East Drinker St., Dunmore, with mass at 11a.m. at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut St., Dunmore.  Except for those in the immediate family, all friends attending the mass are asked to go directly to the church.  Interment in Dunmore Cemetery. 

Friends may call on Thursday from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was a man of great inner strength and perseverance and as a result he was extremely successful in his life. I admired his achievements and learned a great deal from him for he was always willing to share his advice. I will always be grateful to him for providing me with ski lessons, welcoming me in his home in Palm Beach, and showing me some of the finer things in life. My heart breaks for his soul mate, my Aunt Denise, and his beloved daughter Diane who kept vigil by his side at the end of his journey. Uncle Vince will be sorely missed by his family but his influence will live on in all of us.
