Charlene Carden died May 1, 2016 in Stuart, Florida. She was the widow of Joseph Carden.

Charlene was born on November 28, 1938, on Willow Street in Dunmore. She was the daughter of Joseph and Margaret Longo. Charlene, known as Bunny by friends and family, was a very spirited and energetic woman. She had a great love for family and a special love for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a graduate of Dunmore High School Class of 1956.

Before retiring to Florida, Bunny worked as a hair stylist and as a pre-school teacher at Lackawanna County Day Care. In Florida, Bunny was involved in many activities and had a special love for the Elks Club. She was named Elk of the Year for her volunteer work.

She is survived by four sons and two daughters, Joseph Gaughan and  wife Sally, Dunmore, Kim Gaughan and wife Janice, Vernon, NJ, Bryan Gaughan and wife Maria, Olyphant, Charlene Dixon and husband William, Scranton, Kenneth Gaughan and wife Marcie, Jefferson Twp., Erin Jeffers and fiancé Sean Bertram, Dunmore, grandchildren, Shelbie Goodnow, Kevin Gaughan, Megan Gaughan, Matthew Gaughan, Bryan Gaughan, Christopher Gaughan, William Dixon, Amanda Gilroy, Emma Gaughan, Kenny Gaughan, and Sarah Jeffers, great grandchildren, Wade Goodnow, Ellie Goodnow, Nora Rose Gaughan, Sean Gilroy, Lily Gilroy, William Dixon, and Evelyn Dixon.

 A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 11am in Immaculate Conception Church, Taylor Avenue in Scranton.

Guys....I am very sorry to hear of your Mothers passing. I can remember all the times I was in your house and all the great laughs we all had. She was truly a wonderful person. I will remember her in my prayers. Take care.

Sally, loss of family is special in its own way to each family. I'm very sorry for how this loss affects your family.
