Armand A. Galea, Jr.

Throop, PA August 22, 1971 ~ October 8, 2015 Date of Service: October 15, 2015

Armand A. Galea, Jr., 44, Throop, died Thursday at home. His wife of 18 years is the former Gina Appel.

Born in Scranton, son of Sally Costello Galea, Olyphant, Galea and the late Armand A. Galea, Sr., he graduated from Mid Valley High School and Johnson College with a degree in electro-mechanical technology, Much like his father, he had the gift of being able to fix anything.  He was a loving husband and dad who always strived to make his wife and sons happy, proud and always smiling.  He enjoyed fishing, but above all, spending time with family meant the world to him. He was quick to joke and had an infectious smile and laugh.  It gives us comfort to know that he is with the Lord and reunited with his dad.  He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed by all.  His legacy of kindness and love will continue, as Armand became a Gift of Life donor.

Also surviving are his two sons, Tyler and Armand III, both at home; brothers Joseph Costello and wife Sharon, Throop; and Anthony Galea and wife Cheri, Scott Township; Frank Galea and wife Rosilyn, Dickson City; and sisters Denise Kester and husband Randy, Archbald; and Renee Corgan and husband Cy, Duryea; his in-laws, Gordon and Bernadette Appel, Throop; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends, and his beloved dog Molly.

The funeral will be Thursday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with mass at noon in Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Delaware Ave., Olyphant.  Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.

Family and friends may pay their respects Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m.

It was with very heavy hearts that we heard about Armand this past weekend. Our childhoods and the million memories that went with it ran through my mind with tremendous fondness. To Sally, Gina and the boys, and the rest of the family....thoughts, prayers, and love from our family to yours during this difficult time. ❤️
