Mary C. Holleran, of, Dunmore, died Thursday evening in the Regional Hospital of Scranton. She is survived by her husband, Joseph. The couple celebrated 46 years of marriage on July 13th.


Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Emery and Margaret Brown Smith and was a graduate of St. Paul’s High School, Scranton. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, Dunmore. Prior to marriage she worked in the nursery at St. Joseph’s Center, Scranton.


She enjoyed being a mother and grandmother and spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.


Also surviving are daughters, Ann Jones and husband Harold, Penfield, NY; Eileen Holleran, Bethlehem, PA; and sons, Joseph and wife Kristina, Schnecksville, PA; Timothy, Mount Lake Terrace, Washington; and Brian, Dunmore; six grandchildren; brothers, Thomas and Jerome Smith and a cousin Mericia Mills, all of Scranton; nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by brothers James, Joseph, Jack and William Smith; and a sister, Alice Gillette.


The funeral will be Tuesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore with Mass at 11:00am in St. Mary’s Church, Chestnut St., Dunmore.


Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.


There are no public calling hours.
