Albert Rocco Annibale, 82, a resident of Jefferson Township, died Friday at St. Mary’s Villa in Elmhurst Township.  He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Julia Maskal Annibale. 

 

Born in Dunmore, January 12, 1933, he was the son of the late Gerard and Carmella Muracca Annibale and graduate of Dunmore Senior High School, Class of 1951.  He then enlisted in the United States Air Force.  He was especially proud of his position as radio operator on the B-36 Atom Bomber during the Korean War.  A retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, he was a member of St. Eulalia’s Church in Moscow. 

 

In addition to his wife, Albert is also survived by sons, David J. Annibale, M.D. and wife Holly of Charleston, SC; and Gerard T. Annibale and wife Janice of Dunmore; grandchildren Christopher and wife Daniela, Joseph, Stephen, and Michelle Annibale of South Carolina; and Janice Marie Mecca and husband Christopher of Dunmore; great-grandchildren Zakary, Zoey and Owen; sisters Mary Pagnozzi of Sayre, PA; Yolanda Petrucci of Nutley, NJ; and a brother Alfred Annibale of Conway, SC; nieces and nephews. 

 

He was preceded in death by brothers Michael, Amelio and Anthony.

 

Special thanks and appreciation to all the hospice caregivers that have treated Albert this past year with such care and compassion and that helped us at this difficult time.  God bless you all.

 

The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with mass at 10 a.m. in St. Eulalia’s Church, 214 Blue Shutters Road, Moscow.  Interment in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow. 

 

Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m.

Wishing you comfort during this time of acute loss. Just knowing that Mr. Annibale died after a life well lived and surrounded by those who cared about him may not take away the sadness, but find some peace in knowing that he lives on in each of you.
