 Paul Michael Esgro, 65, Dunmore, died Wednesday morning in the Commonwealth Home Health Hospice of Northeastern Pennsylvania at Regional Hospital of Scranton.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of Margaret Amico Esgro, Dunmore and the late Peter J. Esgro, Sr. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School Class of 1966 and had attended Trade School for Electronics.  He had served in the Army of the National Guard of Pennsylvania and prior to retirement he had been employed by Hartley-Esgro Waterproofing as a bricklayer.

Paul loved fishing in Canada, and was an avid music lover and gardener. He enjoyed shooting pool in various leagues in Dunmore.

The family would like to thank Dr. Lisa Thomas and the staff and nurses at Commonwealth Home Health Hospice of Northeastern Pennsylvania at Regional Hospital of Scranton.

Surviving are two daughters, Marlo Esgro Wright and her husband Eric, Duryea, and Holly Lyn Esgro, Bethlehem, a son Gaetano Esgro, West Pittston, a sister Sharon Esgro and partner Ron Altenhain, Dunmore, a brother Peter J. Esgro, Jr. and his partner David Marshall of Milford, two grandchildren, Tyler A. Wright and Amber M. Wright, both of Duryea, Paul’s partner Mary Stefanowicz, of Dunmore, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30AM in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut Street in Dunmore. Interment will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton. There are no public calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, East Region Office, 712 S. Keyser Avenue Taylor, PA 18517.
