Norma Harris, Miami Beach, Fla., formerly of Scranton, died Sunday at her summer home at Chapman Lake. She was the wife of David Harris, who died May 7.

Born in New York City, daughter of the late Max and Sarah Kupfer Schachter, she was a member of Shomre Shabbos, Machzikeh Hadas Congregation, Scranton Hebrew Day School and the Jewish Home of Eastern Pa. In addition, she and her late husband were supporters of numerous other religious and charitable organizations.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt whose greatest joy was her family.

Surviving are a son, Asher Harris; three daughters, Nancy Friedberg, Malka Susswein and Debra Harris; two sisters, Marly Koslowe and Honey Goodman; a brother, Leo Schachter; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services were held Sunday in Dalton Jewish Cemetery.

Shiva is being observed at 131 Maple Leaf Drive, Jermyn, Scott Twp., PA 18433. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Reading the newspaper this morning brought us the sorrowful news. It is ironic how she died on the same day of the month as David. Norma's grace, beauty and love for everyone affected every single person in our family. It was always a treat to have been in her presence and her warm glow was contagious. You left her with that same glow on you. She and David's relationship with our family impacted, for the better, four generations. We all will miss her. On behalf of Karen and our children, Jennifer, Noah and Becca, we send our love and our wish that you be comforted among the mourners of Zion...
