In Remembrance of Louis Guy Cali
Louis Guy CaliForest City, PA April 4, 1946 ~ May 1, 2012 Date of Service: May 4, 2012
Louis Guy Cali of Forest City died May 1, 2012 at the age of 66 after a heart attack at his home.
After many years as a teacher in the Dunmore public school system, Lou retired after a second career in car sales. He loved German cars and always wanted to ‘go for a ride’; usually gravitating to independently-owned garages such as Monroe Motors. Lou was an avid Formula One racing and college football fan who thrived on spending time with his six grandsons and his dog Wyatt.
Originally from Dunmore, Lou graduated from St. Paul’s High School (class of 1964) and St. Joseph’s University (class of 1971). He wanted to play baseball more than study and could ‘hit’ even as a senior citizen. “Louie” always kept a piece of the 60s and 70s with him and maintained a great number of friendships through his life, never missing an opportunity to ‘hang around’.
Lou is survived by his wife Karen Cali, his mother Molly Cali, his children Cara Kondrat, Christian Cali, Kelli Cali, and Kerri Roberts, and his grandsons Bruce, David, Jack, John, Max, and Nathan. His father Guy S. Cali and brother-like friend William “Bert” Jordan died before him.
A memorial service will take place on Friday, May 4th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church, Dunmore.
