Anthony E. Gazoo, 71, of Roaring Brook Township, died Friday at home surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, the former Ann Mazzoni, who compassionately cared for him at home during his illness. The couple celebrated 47 years of marriage on April 25.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Dombroski Gazoo and a member of St. Eulalia Church. He was an Army Veteran and was educated in the Scranton Schools. He received his General Education Diploma while serving with the Army. He was employed as a supervisor for Atlas Industries and Pepsi Coca-Cola Company, Scranton.
“Papa”, as he was called by his grandchildren, was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and wood working. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank a very special niece, Tina Coar for her care and kindness towards her uncle. The family also wishes to thank the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for all of their care and compassion during Anthony’s illness.

Two brothers; John Gazoo; Lake Ariel and Robert Gazoo and wife Sally, Scranton
Five grandchildren; Ryan Anthony, Rachel and Katelyn Rizzetto and Emily and Ava Gazoo
Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Joseph, Thomas, Raymond, Edward and an infant brother Anthony and three sisters, Stella Drosinski, Dorothy Mastrogiovanni and Anna Trapani.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore with Mass at 10a.m. in St. Eulalia Church, Blue Shutters Road, Roaring Brook Township.
Interment, St. Catherine’s Cemetery
