Kris L. Mecca. 57, Dunmore, died Friday in Hospice Community Care, Dunmore.

She and her husband John R. Mecca would have celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on Aug. 11, 2011.

Born in Lancaster, PA. she was the daughter of Charles White, York, Pa. and Rose Anne Schanerberger White, Nicholson, Pa.

She was a graduate of Dunmore High School, Keystone College and East Stroudsburg University.

She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, East Scranton.

She was employed by Carepoint Partners, Dunmore.

She was a member of several local clubs and enjoyed antiques and collectables.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt  and friend whose true enjoyment was her family and her work.

Also surviving are a son, John Nicholas Mecca and wife, Jennifer, Scranton, a grandson, Nicholas Moreau, at home and a granddaughter, Nancy Mecca. Scranton, a brother Toby White and wife Jodi, Clarks Summit, a sister Laurie White , Allport, Pa. and her partner, Aggie Hubler, longtime family friend, Sharon Pletcher, Port Matilda, Pa. and Bonnie White the wife of Charles White, York,Pa. and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter Kristen Mecca, who died, Nov. 25, 2010.

The funeral will be Tuesday with services at 10:30 A.M. in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Taylor Ave. and Ash St., East Scranton, by Rev. David Searing. Interment in Dunmore Cemetery.

Family and friends may call Sunday at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 East Drinker St., Dunmore from 4:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. and Tuesday morning at the church from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service. All those attending the service on Tuesday are asked to go directly to the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Community Care, 100 William Str., Dunmore 18512

John and John JR. Iam verry sorry to hear of the passing of your wife and mother. i know the grief of losing a loved one. only God knows the reason why these sorrows come into our lives. we have to remember all the good times that we had with each other. i wish i could have come to the funeral home, but i had another commitment. if you need anything please give me a call.
