Irene DiVizio, Dunmore, died Wednesday afternoon in the Regional Hospital of Scranton.  She was preceded in death by her husband, the late George J. DiVizio who died July 26, 2002.

 A lifelong resident of Dunmore, daughter of the late George and Mary Stanko, she attended Dunmore public schools, and prior to retirement she worked in the cafeteria for the Dunmore School District.  She was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish and had a strong devotion to St. Theresa.  She was a devoted fan of both Dunmore Bucks football and Penn State football, and enjoyed baking her famous zucchini brownies for her family.  She will always be remembered for saying, “Smile, God loves you, and so do I.”

 Surviving is a son Gene DiVizio and wife Toni, Dunmore; daughters Carol Rozelle and husband Paul, Orlando, FL; Georgene Pisa and husband Joe, Roaring Brook Township; and Liz Wassel and husband Bob, Dunmore; a special friend Cataldo “Cux” LaMagna, Dunmore,  seven grandchildren, David Rozelle, Orlando, FL; Lisa Mazzuca, Orlando, FL; Deanna Walton, Oxford, CT; Christopher Valvano, Lansing, MI; Brian Pisa, Tampa, FL; Gina DiVizio, Dunmore; and Kate Wassel, Dunmore; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins;

She was also preceded in death by brothers Andrew and Frank Stanko; and sisters Ann Sylvester and Mary Schipp.

 The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with mass at 9:30 a.m. in the St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St., Dunmore.  Interment in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.  Friends may call in the funeral home on Sunday evening from 4-7 p.m.

Dear Gene,
I am very sorry to read about your mom, it is very hard to lose both your parents.....so close to the wedding also....lots of emotions ups and downs...all part of life but oh so very hard....I am thinking of you & I know you will be ok, sorry I was out of town for the weekend, Love Jody
