In Remembrance of Seymour Gutter

Born in Wilkes-Barre, son of the late Samuel and Esther Rockwell Gutter, he attended Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, and served in the Army during World War II. Before retirement, he was employed at Tobyhanna Army Depot, and he was a member of Temple Hesed, Scranton. He was an avid reader who enjoyed dancing, animals and singing. He was an amateur artist who drew numerous pencil drawings. Seymour was a member of the Ding Dongs Bell Choir at the VA Medical Center, which won a local competition in 2011.
His family would like to thank the staff of the VA Medical Center for all their devoted care.
Surviving are three daughters, Ida A. Perea and husband, Luis, Charlottesville, Va.; Susan J. Decker, Dickson City; and Shirley L. Williams and husband, Kara, Waldorf, Md.; a son, David B. Gutter, Gouldsboro; five grandchildren, Dana Edwards, Carmen Parks, Jeremy Ewing, Tiffany Williams and Joemour Williams; four great-grandchildren, Loraleigh and Olivia Ewing, Contessa Parks and Wesley Chadwick; a son-in-law, Norman Ewing, Warren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Ewing; and several brothers and sisters.
The funeral will be Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with services by Rabbi Daniel Swartz. The family will received friends from noon until time of services. Interment, Temple Hesed Cemetery, Dunmore.
