Guy Marciano, of Fort Myers, FL, passed away peacefully of Lewy Body Dementia on January 23, 2012, at Hope Hospice House, Fort Myers, FL.
He was born in Scranton on August 26, 1925. He was a son of the late Enrico and Josephine Giordano Marciano. He was the husband of Louise M. Popiwchak Marciano. The couple married on November 28, 1974, and moved to the Ft. Myers area. He was a US Navy Veteran who served on the U.S.S. Brooklyn during World War II in Sicily. He worked for Sears as an Electronics Technician for 33 years and retired in 1989. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church and a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, Post #2596. He loved the Yankees, cracking jokes, Olive Garden and oatmeal cookies.
The family would also like to personally thank the wonderful, caring staff at Hospice House.
In addition to his wife, Guy is survived by one daughter, Josephine (Jodi) Marciano of New Cumberland, PA; two sisters, Louise Polizzi and Lena Sabie, both of Dunmore, and a sister-in-law, Angelica Picharello Marciano, Dunmore; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Guy is preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Marciano and two brothers-in-law, Michael Polizzi and Salvatore Sabie.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with mass at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Taylor Avenue and East Gibson Street, Scranton. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. Friends may call Monday evening in the funeral home from 5-8 p.m.
