Nancy G. Gatto, 79, of Dunmore, died Monday at the Lackawanna Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of Anthony F. "Topes" Gatto, who died in 1999.

Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Sebastiana Falluzza Naro. The church was her heart and soul, and she was a dedicated member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore. A lifelong Dunmore resident, she retired from the garment industry, working in both Scranton and Dunmore.

Surviving are a son, Anthony M. Gatto Jr., Dunmore; a daughter, Nancy Travis and husband, Kenneth, Bethel Park, Pa.; two brothers, James Naro, Dunmore; and Joseph Naro and wife, Lillian, Throop; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, Sam, Michael, Louis, Ross and Anthony Naro; and sisters, Catalda Tuzze, Josephine Scarantino and Mary Yakubisin.

The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street, Dunmore. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.

Friends may call Thursday, 5 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 340 Montage Mountain Road, Moosic, 18507.

My sympathy to Nancy's family. I worked with Nancy at the factory in Dunmore for quite a few years. I was proud to call her my friend.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers.I have a lot of fond memories of our mom's in the kitchen making the spaghetti and ravioli.I can't make it to the viewing but wanted you to know that we are thinking of you.
